Hi Friends!
Well, I'm sorry (again) somehow an entire month went by, didn't it? How does time do that?
Here is it July 30th! For those of you in the states it is still Sunday but for us in Japan it is now almost 3:00 in the morning! It is hot again, really hot. I mean so hot that you are sweating like a pig, stuck to your clothes just walking from your door to your car. Granted my car is probably 300meters away in the parking lot but still, you can't go anywhere without feeling like your dying in the heat.

It is actually raining right now. I just hope there is no rain this Thursday as it will be my first Hanabi (fireworks festival) of this year! We have a big plan with lots of friends so everyone pray for no rain in Tokyo on Thursday!

The time flew by since my last post that the WRC season break is already over. This weekend is Rally Finland! My friend Eileen is going and I'm so jealous of her! I wish I could go to more rallies but it is impossible to find not only money but the time to get away to go overseas during most rallies. Of course this is my summer vacation so I have only a little work, I might have been able to swing the time, but not the money! I do hope my guys will make it to the podium!! I really hope Petter can get 1st, and then Chris or Jari-Matti in 2nd and 3rd. That is always my "dream podium!" Good luck guys!!!!

As I said it is my Natsu Yasumi (summer vacation) from school. I still have my private classes and company and community center classes for the most part but I'm not working too much! It is nice to have some break but for me break = no pay! I could really use the pay now and no break!!! During summer I have lots of things I want to do, and I'm still not caught up from going to the US. There are some friends I want to catch up with and some places I'd like to go, especially as many fireworks festivals and summer festivals as possible.

Tonight I went to a concert with a friend and we saw "Boyz II Men" and they were fabulous!! That was one of the best concerts I've been to! Actually the entire day was fabulous! First off I won the tickets on the radio. They were worth about $120 US so that was cool. I took my good friend Joe (he's from Ghana!) with me. We've been friends for about 12 years or so I guess. He loves them as much as I do! We were both really psyched!

Then I checked the website of the event and found out that it was in combination with an Expo going on called "Adult Treasure Expo" with the concert being the final event. I wondered about all of it but I didn't even know if our tickets would let us in to that event or not. Well, the tickets I won were from the Air Force base radio station so the winners were all given free transportation by bus as well. But I talked to my friend and we decided to just drive on our own so we could have our own time schedule. The buses were leaving later so they only arrived just before the concert. Open seating gave me the impression we should get there as early as possible to get in line and forget the people on the bus.

Well it worked! We left in the morning about 10am and were flying down the highway singing songs and talking and then we were there, it was like we flew all the way. Couple hours and 130kilometers later and we were parking the car. We went ahead inside to check things out and look at the area. It was held in a place called Makuhari Messe which is an event hall area for expos and concerts. It is in Chiba, near the college where I work. It was my first time to go to Makuhari so I really wanted to enjoy the area as well.

When we got to the event hall Joe asked if we could use our tickets to get in or if we had to wait for the concert. We were the first people with the military tickets so they had to get the boss. He said of course and he even escorted us inside. He was a wonderful man and one of my new best friends!! Thank you Shibata-san, I absolutely LOVE YOU!!!!!! He gave us a special deal since we were so early and so nice to him and offered us VIP front row seating! Wow! That was absolutely cool!!!

The Expo was really not what I would have expected! It was Adult, very adult! There were porn star girls there dressed in costumes and they had booths to demonstrate all sorts of Sex TOYS! I mean at first I was so embarrassed I thought I'd die but then it became fun! We walked around and checked things out. It was so amazing. I never would have dreamed I'd be in some expo like that in my life. Then we were checking out this special sex chair and my friend Joe wanted to sit in it, then this other funny guy tried to get on with Joe. He wasn't gay, his gorgeous wife was with him but she was laughing as much as I was. They both had on their clothes and it was just funny! When I was taking a video of it I started mentioning how funny it would be to watch later, then suddenly.... I heard these words.. "Viki-sensei?" Then I thought I'd die. I turned around to find two of my ex-students there. I was so embarrassed explaining the free ticket and why I was there, for the concert, not the expo! But they told me to have fun when they left.... Well.. at least they aren't current students!
We met lots of fun people and all the girls wanted to talk to Joe and take pictures with him! When the organizers saw how much he got into it they would find me and ask where Joe was to take more pictures with a different "model" during the time we were there. I made a couple new friends and so I'm glad we went.

THEN 3:30 came and we were supposed to meet Shibata-san to go to our seats. I ran into a couple friends from the base who came on the bus and we asked if they could sit with us and he did let them. He took us to the special entrance and gave them special instructions and soon we were marched to our front row seats! That was great! The downside was an hour delay for the concert. We were getting pretty bored!

But then they came on and we were singing along and standing right there in front of them! Fabulous!!! Fantastic!! They are so good and they sang old and new songs alike! Then when they sang "I'll make love to you" they each took a dozen roses and gave them out to ladies in the audience! I couldn't believe it when Shawn blew me a kiss and gave me a rose! That was so cool! Made me feel 25 again! Some Japanese girl who managed to get past security and was pushing me over tried to grab it from me and I almost had to knock her out! Joe would have held her back but he took the silliest time to go to the bathroom!

Anyway after the concert we talked to many new friends and finally made our way toward the door about 7:30pm and by the time we got to the car and left it was 8pm. As with the morning, there was no traffic and we got home in an hour and a half! Plus a smoke break for Joe!

We really had a wonderful time today!! Thanks to Shibata-san's great help with the seats (We love you!), Boyz II Men for a wonderful concert full of old songs to bring back great memories, Shawn for the rose (Thank you!!!!!) and our special new friends Eri-chan and Takashi (Thank you for letting us leave our stuff at your booth!!!!) that we met and spent time talking to at the Expo! I can't believe the fun we had and crazy times! At the time I felt 25 again.. but now it is 3 in the morning and I'm finishing up some work and watching a few Boyz II Men videos on the net! I'm starting to feel 42 again! That's scary as well!

I'll be writing more this week. I've got to tell you all some news and I'll report on the fireworks Thursday!!

Love,
Viki
